An award-filled offseason has continued for Spring Garden standout and Alabama women's basketball commit Ace Austin.

The latest two awards, the Class 1A Player of the Year and the prestigious Miss. Basketball Award, which is presented to the best player in any class. It is the first Miss. Basketball and second straight Class 1A Player of the Year award. She was also listed among the Super 5 team by the Alabama Sports Writers Association, who hands out each award.

"This year has been a great year, a fun year. The older you get, it means more to you because you're getting close to ending your career at the high school you're at. I'm just blessed to be where I am at right now because none of this would be possible without God, teammates, the school, the support. It's a great feeling," Austin told The Montgomery Advertiser's Jerry Humphrey III following the ASWA banquet on Tuesday in Montgomery.

The awards come after she earned MaxPreps and Gatorade player of the year awards last month. She also was the Gadsden Times small class player of the year, earning first team all-area honors. She also secured her fifth straight Class 1A All-state honors this season, fourth straight being on the first team.

ACE TO BAMA:'Just a family culture': Why Spring Garden's Ace Austin committed to Alabama women's basketball

It all comes after a season in which Austin and the Panthers dominated almost everyone in their path to back-to-back state titles. Austin averaged 20.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 3.5 per game as the Panthers went 33-1. For her career, Austin scored 2,958 points to go with 1,076 rebounds and 1,188 assists. She is one of five players in the AHSAA history to go over 1,000 assists.

Austin committed to the Crimson Tide ahead of the season. Alabama head coach Kristy Curry was seen at multiple Spring Garden games, including a big Final Four win. Curry was also in attendance as Austin and the Panthers won the Class 1A volleyball title last fall, about a week before her commitment. ESPN ranks Austin has a four-star recruit in the Class of 2025 and the 54th rated player in the class.

"I'm excited for Bama, and I'm not going to overlook this last high school season. I know a lot of people think I'm leaving early, but I'm not, I'm staying. I'm excited to take on this next season, final year and I'm going t leave everything on the court," Austin said.
