Alabama basketball lands Aden Holloway, ex-Auburn guard, from transfer portal

The Iron Bowl of basketball has gained an interesting new chapter.

Alabama basketball has landed a point guard from the Plains; Aden Holloway, who played for Auburn this past season, has committed to transfer to the Crimson Tide, he told On3.

Holloway is a former five-star recruit and is the No. 28 overall player in the transfer portal, per 247Sports. He joins Houston Mallette and Chris Youngblood as Alabama's transfer portal additions so far.

Holloway is a 6-foot-1, 178-pound guard from Charlotte, North Carolina. He averaged 7.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists this past season on the Plains. He went 82-for-258 (31.8%) from the field and 52-for-172 (30.2%) from deep.

Holloway is a former McDonald's All-American who was the No. 4 point guard and No. 18 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class. He played for Prolific Prep in Napa, California, in high school. 

Holloway gives Alabama needed guard depth. The Crimson Tide has seen Davin Cosby and Rylan Griffen depart via the transfer portal while Aaron Estrada saw his collegiate eligibility expire.
