Rylan Griffen enters transfer portal after two seasons with Alabama basketball

Rylan Griffen, who spent the past two seasons with the Crimson Tide, has entered the transfer portal, a source with direct knowledge told The Tuscaloosa News.
Griffen played in 36 games this past season, starting in 33 of them. He averaged 11.2 points per game to go with 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists. Over his two seasons with Alabama, Griffen appeared in 73 games. He shot 39.2% from beyond the arc this past season, a big jump from his freshman season in which he shot 30.1% from deep.
Griffen is a 6-foot-6, 190 pound guard from Dallas, Texas. He will be a junior this upcoming season.
Griffen becomes the latest Alabama player with intentions to enter the transfer portal or having entered. He joins walk-on Max Scharnowski and guard Kris Parker, who redshirted this past season.
Alabama is fresh off its first Final Four appearance in program history. The only player with expiring eligibility from that roster is Aaron Estrada. All others can come back and play college basketball if they so choose.
