Alabama basketball to play host to talented guard from transfer portal

Alabama basketball is set to play host to a transfer portal visitor who knows Tuscaloosa well.

Chris Youngblood, a guard from South Florida, will visit the Crimson Tide this weekend, a source confirmed to The Tuscaloosa News. Youngblood is a Tuscaloosa native but played for East Coweta High School in Georgia.

Youngblood, who is 6-foot-4, 218 pounds, played his first three seasons of college basketball for Kennesaw State. Then he transferred to South Florida this past season.

Youngblood has shot 3-pointers at a high clip over the past three seasons, never shooting below 40.5% percent. Each of the past two seasons, he has shot 41.5 and 41.6 respectively from deep. Youngblood has averaged double digits each season of college basketball. He surpassed 1,000 points over three seasons at Kennesaw State.

The Crimson Tide has already added one guard in the transfer portal in Pepperdine's Houston Mallette. Alabama figures to add at least one rim protector as well. Meanwhile, most of the roster has yet to make decisions.
